A whistle-stop tour of England’s first city by someone who’s been there less than you
A writer’s edition from Ophira
Dear members – You may have noticed that I (Ophira) have been writing for the Post a little more regularly these days. But then again, maybe you haven’t — in my last piece I got mistaken for Abi in the comments, something I took as a compliment. The truth is I’ve given up the idle life of the freelancer (tax returns, arsehole editors, constant financial insecurity) for the hectic life of a full-time reporter for Mill Media (a liveable income, and Jack as my editor, who seems alright).
Sounds good — but there’s a catch. Mainly due to the fact that I live in rural West Yorkshire, and partly due to the fact that I mostly write niche special interest pieces that appeal to a relatively small pocket of society, I’m currently functioning as Mill Media’s ‘Roving Reporter’ — a title bestowed upon me by the powers that be.
