We’re going to be very magnanimous here, and open today’s newsletter by pointing out that we weren’t the only ones providing top-notch coverage of the Reform surge. This analysis from occasional Post contributor Jonny Ball appeared in UnHerd on Saturday, it’s well worth a read. 

In the piece, Ball examines the success of Reform in areas like Knowsley and St Helens last week, and tries to square that with Liverpool’s longstanding reputation as a left-wing place.
