To explore the nature of Scouse solidarity, we sent Laurence to interview Audrey White, a long-time political campaigner who stood up against sexual harassment in Liverpool in the 1980s and was expelled from the Labour Party in 2022 for confronting its current leader. When a film was made about the former experience, starring Merseyside’s own Glenda Jackson, Audrey sued the producers — a testament to her enduring determination to be a nuisance to those she feels deserve it.
