The fight for Liverpool's peregrine falcons
Plus: Liverpool Labour gets a kicking, and we meet Nana, an asylum seeker and former lawyer from Georgia
Dear members — today’s story is about the peregrine falcons of Liverpool Anglican Cathedral, a protected species that has nested on the upper heights of the building for the last three decades. Local birders have been outraged since the cathedral put up netting to stop the birds nesting in the entrance, and we have responses from both the Diocese and wildlife experts below.
We also have analysis of Thursday’s by-election results, which saw Labour narrowly cling on to Warbreck, plus a story about Nana, an asylum seeker from Georgia who told us about life after war.
