Dear readers — I was at the National Portrait Gallery last weekend, and ended up at the Paul McCartney photography show. It was nice in lots of ways, but the standard of the photos was pretty ho-hum (especially for a show whose entry cost a princely £22), though obviously people aren’t going to see boundary-pushing Art, but nice informal snaps by Paul backstage. All the same, it made me realise how hungry I was to see photos of Liverpool now, not then. So this week we sent Abi to chat to Dominic McDermott, a Liverpool-based photographer taking dreamy shots of this city’s nightlife and young people.
