I'm also glad The Post are covering local politics - no-one else covers it in this depth.
On the specific article, although I'm not a fan of the current administration, I do find the constant criticism of them as 'young' quite patronising. It is a good thing for the city to have young people interested enough to be involved in politics and local affairs, and while there will be many decisions I am critical of, their age is not an issue. Ideally we'd have a blend of experienced councillors together with younger ones coming through in both parties - what the city doesn't need is just the same old faces we've had around for the last 20+ years
An entertaining piece but it only told us the views of the puppets and not those of the ones behind the curtain. If the co writers of this piece really want to be the eyes and voice of the people of Merseyside , I am afraid they will have to work a little harder than this.
Thanks Ryan - we will try to offer high-quality politics reporting and balance it with lots of other types of writing too. We're still figuring out that balance, and it will inevitably be different every month depending on what's in the news.
When I first endorsed the idea of a new newspaper for Merseyside, when I first subscribed to it, I understood the paper was to feature arts news, poetry, cultural matters and suchlike, all we get is more politics, politics, politics.
That's true Brian, we've been politics heavy in the last fortnight because of the budget issues, having not done much politics up to that point. There will be plenty of culture coming up. But thanks for the feedback.
The politics of Liverpool is just as an important matter as art, culture etc. I'm very happy The Post is covering these important topics as local politics are what effect our daily lives and need good coverage.

Contrary to the other comment, this kind of reporting is exactly why I’m subscribed to The Post. Great newsletter and can’t wait to read more!
