Dear members — it wouldn’t be ideal to have your town’s name used as a sexual euphemism at the best of times, but for Edge Hill — used to denote the disappointment of a nearly-but-not-quite encounter (getting off at Edge Hill) — it’s especially not great. But what not everyone knows about Edge Hill is the history of the place; a central location in the expansion of Britain's rail infrastructure, such to the extent it was targeted for bombing during World War Two. That’s all well in the past now though, so we sent Edward Haynes along to find out if there’s a more colourful future for this place on the periphery.
