Five years ago, Knowsley's last sixth form closed. The council's leaders tell The Post they aren’t to blame
Dear members — a few months ago, we reported on a “shameful hole” in this city region’s education system: the absence of any dedicated sixth form provision in Knowsley. “It signifies almost a lack of hope, that people have given up on an area,” a leading education expert told us.
Today, we hear from the local leaders who are responsible for education in the borough. We asked them why their young people are having to take long journeys to study their A Levels in neighbouring areas — and what they are planning to do about it.
