Dear members — hopefully you all enjoyed Abi’s weekend read about the conflict between University of Liverpool academics and local activists. We hope you especially enjoyed the headline (Tinker Tailor Teacher Spy) as we were very pleased with it! It was always going to be the sort of piece that would prompt a lively debate in the comments section, but nonetheless it’s always interesting to read what gets written below our pieces, and the amount of thought people put in to their responses. Among our many reasons for gratitude about the way The Post has been received, that ranks pretty highly. And if you haven’t read that one, do take a look.

Now, some less positive news: You probably wouldn’t be able to tell if you stuck your head out of a window, but we are actually in the middle of summer, which means we’re going to be taking a week-long summer break from publishing.
