Dear members — Jack was at Town Hall on Wednesday night, watching on as Liverpool City Council voted to scrap the post of mayor from 2023 in favour of a leader and cabinet system, despite a recent public consultation that suggested the public don’t support this move. As has become typical of council meetings in recent months, it was a hostile and bad tempered affair.
